A single stitched hem, also known as a blindstitch hem, is usually found on vintage t-shirts from the 1990s and earlier. This method of hemming a t-shirt takes a tremendous amount of skill to execute correctly. We can also re-hem single-stitched hems that have come undone. This is done with an overlocker.

A double-stitched hem, also known as a double-needle coverstitch, is a specialized sewing stitch that creates parallel rows of straight stitching on the face of the fabric and an interlocking chain or zigzag pattern on the reverse side. This is done with a coverstitch machine.

When your t-shirt starts to thin or develop holes between and around the ink of the graphic, I apply a donor fabric under the damaged area and carefully sew a zigzag stitch around it, so the original t-shirt no longer carries the stress on its own. The donor fabric takes the load off and keeps the graphic intact, so it lasts you many more years of wear. (Pricing depends on how intricate the graphic is.)

A "death-chop" is what we call a t-shirt that has been turned into a tank top. This chop is usually uneven and done very poorly. I take the time to fully reconstruct the armhole area before attaching the sleeves back on, done in the cleanest way possible. (Price shown is for both arm chops.)

This is probably the hardest repair for people to get right. What I do here is figure out how much material is actually missing from the chop and apply your donor fabric to make up for the missing material, then create and attach a collar to the newly created neckhole.

This covers any tearing at the armpit seam of the shirt, usually caused by deodorant that contains aluminum or other harsh chemicals. Over time, this causes the fabric to thin and eventually tear and rip. What I do here is line up the rip, attach your donor fabric, and carefully mend the area with a zigzag stitch.

Anything that is a pinhole or smaller is not considered a hole worth sending your t-shirt in for repair, and I usually decline requests that are only looking to get pinholes repaired. (Price depends on the damage and condition of the shirt.) I DO NOT REPAIR DRY ROT!

If the current collar on your t-shirt feels loose or is bagging, I replace the ribbing entirely with a new collar, keeping your shirt's original tag in place, along with attaching binding tape if your shirt had it.
